Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What it means to be a
DWM Missions Affiliate
Destiny World Missions (DWM) welcomes everyone to attend our
Light Your World 2012 missions conference.
All evening services and morning sessions are
open to the public, free of charge.
Missionaries working in a foreign field may apply for recognition by DWM as a
Missions Affiliate. In addition to participating
in all of the normal services and activities of the conference, registered
Missions Affiliates will benefit from being recognized by the conference as a
missionary.
Benefits of
Registering as a Missions Affiliate
Missionaries may benefit greatly by being recognized as a missionary at a DWM
missions conference. Many pastors, ministry
leaders, missionaries, and missions supporters attend each year, providing a
rich environment for the broadening and deepening of relationships with other
missions-hearted Christians from around the world.
Additionally, registered DWM Missions Affiliates may enjoy these specific
benefits:
1) Public
presentation to conference by DWM leadership.
2)
Invitation to publicly greet the conference in person.
3)
Provision of display area (subject to space availability and
approval of display by DWM).
4)
Inclusion in the public intercessory prayer commitments made
by conference attendees.
5)
Presentation of financial needs (subject to approval by DWM) to
the conference for possible financial blessing.
Requirements for DWM
Missions Affiliates
Destiny World Missions (DWM) leadership prayerfully considers each application
made by potential Missions Affiliates. Criteria
for invitation are offered, below. DWM reserves
the right to extend invitations to missionaries based upon the leading of the
Holy Spirit.
The DWM leadership makes every effort, both spiritually and practically, to
ensure that all Missions Affiliates presented to the conference are missionaries
of integrity, engaged in productive, Kingdom work, and in good standing with
their church home and pastoral/apostolic leadership.
The following criteria should be met by all applicants desiring an invitation to
be recognized by DWM as a Missions Affiliate at the conference:
• Be a born-again Christian (saved by grace through faith in Christ).
• Be submitted to the Lordship of Christ in all areas of life and
ministry.
• Live a life of exemplary godliness, discipline, and sound judgment.
• Exhibit well-developed spiritual gifts relevant to anticipated ministry
duties.
• Be an active member in good standing with a Bible-believing,
Christ-centered
church home in the U.S.A.
• Be actively submitted to the leadership of applicant’s church home.
• Have unconditional endorsement and affirmation of calling and specific
missions
service by the applicant’s church home, substantiated in writing by
applicant’s pastor.
• Be a citizen of the U.S.A. or married to a citizen of the U.S.A.
• Have a certain calling and specific ministry to a specific foreign
field.
• Spend substantial time on foreign field (“full-time”) in missions work.
• Be able to obtain two letters of character reference in addition to
pastoral
reference as mentioned, above.
• Be able to attend the conference in person.
How to register as a
Missions Affiliate
Missions Affiliates must be invited by DWM and then register with DWM for
presentation at the conference. Any missionary
who meets the qualifications listed above may make application with DWM for
possible invitation to the conference. DWM will
then respond to the applicant with an invitation or a decline.
DWM takes every application very seriously. Consideration
is given to qualifications, suitability, relationship, field(s),
conference capacity, and type of ministry. Declined
applications to not preclude conference attendance. Everyone is invited to
attend all public services and sessions. However, only invited and registered
DWM Missions Affiliates will be presented to the conference as missionaries.
The registration process involves the following three simple
steps:
Step
One: Make application to
DWM for an invitation to register. You may
download the application HERE
or call or write us for a paper
copy of the application form. Please note that all applications
must be received no later than October 20, 2011.

by providing any additional information as
requested by DWM.
The registration process must be totally completed by December

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Question:
Must I complete the registration process even
though I have been introduced in the past as a DWM affiliated missionary?
Answer:
Yes. DWM
now requires full qualification and registration each year. We take world
missions ministry very seriously. A lot can
change in one year. We want to make sure that
every affiliate is fully qualified for presentation to the conference.
Even though the registration process may take a
few minutes, it is worth it. The potential
spiritual, relational, and financial blessing to the missionary more than
compensates for the small effort required to register.
Question:
Why has the registration process changed?
Answer:
One of the goals of DWM is to better serve all
missionaries, including both DWM Missions Ambassadors (those who are sent
directly by DWM) and DWM Missions Affiliates (those who are sent by other
churches and/or missions agencies). As a part of
this goal, DWM and the Destiny Church pastoral team see the need for more
relational and ministerial accountability in missions ministry.
As the work grows, it is important for the
church body to have utmost confidence in every missionary presented for possible
support. The congregation relies upon its
leadership to present only true, qualified, proven servants of God for
consideration.
Question:
If I attend the DWM conference, will all of my
financial needs be met?
Answer:
DWM makes no guarantees concerning financial
needs. Invited and registered Missions
Affiliates may have approved financial needs presented to the conference for
prayerful consideration. Note that there are
limits to dollar amounts that may be presented and DWM will adjust amounts
accordingly prior to presentation. Offerings
received designated for a specific mission or Missions Affiliate will be
forwarded as designated by the donor.
Question:
I have a missionary friend whom I recommend to
DWM for presentation at the conference. Does he
have to be invited by DWM and go through the registration process, or may I just
tell him to come?
Answer:
He must be invited by DWM and fully register.
Anyone may attend the conference, but there will
be no missionaries presented as Missions Affiliates who have not been invited by
DWM or who have not fully completed the registration process. There
will be no exceptions. If your friend would like to be
invited by DWM, have him complete an application for invitation, as described,
above.
Question:
If I attend the conference as a Missions
Affiliate will I be provided meals and a place to stay?
Answer:
Yes, and no. DWM
provides one delicious, hot meal (lunch) per day for everyone
attending the morning services (including missionaries). DWM does not provide housing for Missions Affiliates. Each
missionary is responsible for his/her own housing or motel
accommodations during the conference.
Please call or email the Destiny Church office for motel suggestions and general
rate information.
